Electrical Cable & Submersible Pump Splicing Kit
KSh1,900.00
📋 Key Technical Specifications
-
Voltage Insulation Rating: Typically up to 600V to 1,000V (1kV) for standard multi-conductor configurations; industrial kits can rank up to 5kV for single conductors.
-
Compatibility Range: Designed for common pump wire sizes, spanning 14 AWG, 12 AWG, 10 AWG, and 8 AWG ($2.0\text{ mm}^2 \text{ to } 8.4\text{ mm}^2$).
-
Waterproofing Standard: Meets IP68 waterproof compliance and is heavily resistant to chemicals, brine, and high-pressure subsea conditions.
-
Connector Core Material: Thick, seamless electro-tin-plated copper or solid brass.
Waterproof electrical wire splicing kits are specifically engineered to endure high-pressure underwater environments (like deep water boreholes or well casings) or long-term underground direct burial. A single microscopic pinhole leak can cause an instant earth fault, tripping your breaker or destroying your pump motor.

🛠️ Common Structural Splicing Methods
Depending on the specific kit you purchase, manufacturers rely on one of three common methods to lock out moisture:
1. Dual-Wall Adhesive Heat-Shrink Kits (Most Popular)
-
How it Works: You slide specialized plastic tubes over the wires. When treated with a heat gun, the outer layer shrinks tightly around the copper crimps while an internal thermal adhesive glue melts and flows, completely filling the voids and air bubbles.
-
Kit Contents:
-
3 to 4 × Small inner adhesive-lined heat shrink tubes (one for each phase/ground wire).
-
1 × Large outer heavy-wall heat shrink tube (to seal the entire cable jacket bundle together).
-
3 to 4 × Seamless copper butt crimp connectors (often called “stakons”).
-
2. Liquid Resin Cast Kits (3M Scotchcast Style)
-
How it Works: The individual wires are crimped or soldered normally. Then, a rigid transparent plastic mold box is clamped directly over the entire joint. You mix a two-part polyurethane or epoxy resin packet (“Unipak”) and pour it directly into the mold, where it hardens into a solid, completely impervious plastic block.
-
Kit Contents: Two-part liquid resin pouch, snap-together plastic mold shell, sealing tape, and compression inline connectors.
3. Mechanical Gasket Insulator Kits
-
How it Works: Uses tough, hard-plastic structural cylinders that slide together and screw closed by hand.
-
Kit Contents: Plastic insulator body casings, internal rubber neoprene compression gaskets, and mechanical set-screw terminal blocks.
Pro Installation Rule — Stagger Your Joints: When splicing a 3-wire or 4-wire pump cable, never cut all individual wires at the exact same point. Stagger your wire cuts at minimum 2-inch intervals. This prevents the final joint from building up a massive, bulky “bulge” that could easily snag, scratch, or tear against the side of the well casing as you lower the pump.
